Pat Gould's Raising Star in Cyber Security Award is a prestigious honour established for Charles Darwin University (CDU) Cyber Security students. This award, sponsored by Pat Gould, recognises outstanding talent and dedication in cyber security. By providing a platform to showcase their achievements and potential, the award seeks to inspire and encourage future cybersecurity professionals.
Pat Gould, a former CISO and CIO at CDU, has left a lasting legacy on the institution. With over two decades of service, Pat played a pivotal role in driving innovation and technological advancements. Pat's vision and commitment to fostering a culture of excellence is evident in his numerous contributions to the university community, including his involvement in enterprise bargaining, critical incident management, and community outreach initiatives. Through his generosity and dedication, Pat has established this award as a testament to his passion for cyber security and his belief in the next generation of IT professionals at CDU.
Eligibility
The nominee must be a currently enrolled on CDU’s Information Technology courses (undergraduate, postgraduate, TAFE) who meet the following selection criteria
Demonstrated exceptional academic performance in cybersecurity units of study
Evidence of strong practical cybersecurity skills and experience
Consistently showing passion for innovation and leadership in cyber security
NOMINATION
A nomination, in the form of a 300-word statement addressing the selection criteria, must be submitted to Dr Thuseethan Selvarajah at thuseethan.selvarajah@cdu.edu.au
Nomination closes on 16 Oct 2024. Self-nomination is allowed.
SELECTION AND ANNOUNCEMENT
One winner will be selected by Pat Gould’s representative and announced at the CDU IT CodeFair 2024.
