Report Format Requirments

  1. Submission Deliverables
    • Data analysis report & background research
    • 5-minute presentation slide deck
    • Interactive prototype solution
    • Python-based solution (.py files / Jupyter Notebooks; no restrictions on Python packages)
  2. Report File type: PDF only
  3. Report Length: Max 8 pages (excluding the title page, references and appendices)
  4. Report Word count: ~2,500 words (guideline only, not a strict limit)
  5. Report Page setup: A4 size, continuous page numbering; header & footer must include Team Number and Page Number
  6. Report Font requirements: Calibri or Arial; Title 20pt bold; Section headings 14pt bold; Body text 11pt regular; Captions & references 10pt
  7. Report File naming rule: DataChallenge_Team xx(number)_Report.pdf

Required Structure

  1. Title Page, including report title, team number and members with roles, date, challenge name.
  2. Summary (150–250 words)

An overview of the report – the problem/gap, approaches, key findings, impacts (ethical, cultural, community), and recommendations/solutions.

  1. Main Body
  • Introduction, e.g., background, purpose, scope, communications, etc
  • Methodology, e.g., data sources, techniques, design, etc
  • Findings, e.g., key results, supporting evidence, etc.
  • Discussion, e.g., ethical, cultural, and community impacts.
  • Recommendations, e.g., actionable recommendations for government, industry, or community stakeholders.
  • References, e.g., official articles, data, resources, peer-reviewed publications, and tools with links
  • Appendices (if applicable), e.g., AI usage declaration, source code, dataset links.
